Jerez

Jerez de la Frontera

With 3,000 years of winemaking history, this is one of Spain’s most important regions, world famous for its fortified wines known as “Jerez”, “Xerés” or “Sherry” from the historical names of the city of Jerez de la Frontera.

On the Atlantic coast of Andalusia, in the southwest of Spain, the region unfolds in broad, gently rolling landscapes of albariza soils, where white grapes – primarily Palomino and Pedro Ximénez – mature over long days of full sun. With a tremendous diversity, from highly pale and smooth to deeply dark and rich, the wines obtain their unique character in the half-light of the bodegas of Jerez de la Frontera, Sanlúcar de Barrameda and El Puerto de Santa María, the “Sherry Triangle”.
