Marlborough

Marlborough

Marlborough is New Zealand’s most important wine region, with outstanding natural conditions for nearly two thirds of the country’s total wine-growing area, largely dominated by the Sauvignon Blanc white grape variety (80%).

Located 20,000 km away from Portugal, Framingham has been part of Sogrape since 2007. The property’s first vines were planted in the Wairau Valley in 1981, and are among the oldest Riesling vines in the region. Its outstanding location, ideal climate and pebbly alluvial soils result in excellent ripening of grape varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling and Pinot Noir. Following its own rules outside of the mainstream, the Framingham team makes wines that it likes to drink, with great intensity and purity, widely renowned both locally and internationally.
