Luís Cabral Almeida
For Luís Cabral de Almeida, wine has always been more than just a simple pleasure. Originating from a family involved in this occupation, he travelled through France and Australia during his academic training, starting his career in the Douro region. The Dão region was another one of his stops, as well as his debut at Sogrape, together with Argentina, where he has 10 years of experience heading up Finca Flichman. Since 2012, Luís’ destiny has been the Alentejo, a region which always fascinated him for its notion of horizon where, more than anywhere else, he believes that the winemaker’s role is to interpret nature. In 2023, a new challenge arose, and Luís also took on the role of head winemaker at Quinta da Romeyra, in Bucelas.
