Sogrape is Silver Member of IWCA
In a world increasingly aware of the problem of climate change and other environmental challenges, sustainability has emerged as the basis for a more responsible and transcendent business model. Sogrape has, therefore, endeavoured to adopt strategies to mitigate environmental impacts and encourage corporate responsibility.
Sogrape has joined the International Wineries for Climate Action (IWCA) - where it has Silver member status - and Mafalda Guedes, Head of Corporate Communications & Sustainability and 4th generation of Sogrape's founding family, sits on its Board of Directors.
The IWCA is a global consortium of wine companies committed to defending the environment and takes a science-based approach to tackling emerging climate challenges. It aims to encourage best practices - aimed at reducing the impacts of climate change and decarbonising the wine industry - by applying direct solutions that avoid the purchase of carbon offset credits.
Our membership of the IWCA reflects a tangible commitment to the efficient management of natural resources, the development of agricultural practices aligned with the needs of biodiversity, the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and the growth of Sogrape in all aspects of the business model.
We believe that, together with the other IWCA wine companies, we are cultivating a more resilient and equitable future where business success and environmental responsibility coexist in harmony.
