Sogrape sponsors the translation of the IVES Technical Reviews
Valuing sustainability has become a fundamental part of the modern business landscape. At Sogrape, we recognise the importance of balancing the economic success of the business model with the environmental and social responsibility it entails.
Our Global Sustainability Plan shows our commitment to safeguarding our legacy on its journey into the future - aligning our initiatives with the Sustainable Development Goals defined by the UN - to foster wine heritage through preservation, research and development, and innovation.
Sogrape began a partnership on community development with the International Viticulture and Enology Society (IVES) in 2022, promoted by António Graça, Head of Research & Development at Sogrape.
IVES is based in Bordeaux, France, dedicated to disseminating advanced scientific knowledge in an open publication system that brings together 50 partners, 24 academic and 26 private ones.
Sogrape is sponsoring the translation of the IVES Technical Reviews publications into Portuguese to facilitate access by all the agents in the Sogrape group's value chain (where Portuguese is the official language, namely Portugal and Angola) to the scientific advances emerging in the wine industry. In this way, members of the viticulture, wine production, cooperative wineries, other suppliers, distributors and customers are kept up to date with the progress and prosperity of the sector - stimulating culture and knowledge.
The published articles originate from OENO One and other scientific and technical journals. They are available in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese and cover various topics - including wine-growing and winemaking, economics, sociology and health.
The OIV - International Organisation of Vine and Wine distinguished the publication in 2020.
This partnership strengthens Sogrape's role in a world increasingly aware of the importance of sustainability and building a more equitable and transparent society.
