Vidro+: increasing the glass recycling rate in Portugal
Vidro+ is a collective effort aiming to promote an increase in the glass recycling rate in Portugal by defining dynamic targets and practices and valuing the circular economy and the environment - it is hoped that by 2030, 90% of glass packaging placed on the market will be collected for recycling.
This idea involves players in the national glass sector value chain, government bodies, universities and research centres, associations, NGOs and now Sogrape.
As we are dedicated to producing and distributing wines, we recognise the importance of the material that shapes and protects our products: wine bottles.
It is part of Sogrape's social responsibility and the company's values to contribute to a circular economy in the different areas of our business by consciously using glass as a resource and encouraging eco-efficient management of glass waste.
By joining forces with Vidro+, we ensure a collective commitment to global sustainability - with more coordinated communication and resilient joint solutions - and actively participate in building a greener future for the wine industry.
