Rioja

Rioja

In north-eastern Spain, near the Basque Country, Rioja is divided into 3 sub-regions on the banks of the Ebro River. It is best known for its Tempranillo red wines, of classic profile and long ageing in wood, less intense in the latest-generation wines.

Bodegas LAN has been owned by Sogrape since 2012, and includes Viña Lanciano, one of the region’s most spectacular. Along the border between Rioja Alta and Rioja Alavesa, it is circumvented by the Ebro River, which moderates the climate and marks the soils planted with traditional grape varieties on multiple plots. These grapes and those of select wine growers, through the work of exceptional teams, reveal Rioja’s richness, with great classics and innovative wines which delight consumers and are ranked among the world’s top.
