Moonlight Picnic At Quinta do Seixo

Moonlight Picnic At Quinta do Seixo

Enjoying the full moon charm with a moonlight picnic. This is Quinta do Seixo’s suggestion for the evening of September 29, to fully enjoy the last of this year’s four super moons. A unique and exclusive experience, with wines that rise to the occasion, and a special menu prepared by Vasco Coelho Santos’ SEIXO restaurant.

The event is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m., with Port Wine-based cocktails served against a breathtaking view over the Douro river, setting the stage for an unforgettable night. Crossing the vineyard in a candle light stroll, participants make their way to Quinta do Seixo’s chapel square. This is where the magic happens. The final supermoon of the year shines on a small table where the first moonlight picnic will be served. Great Douro wines accompany a menu specially designed at the Seixo restaurant, by Vasco Coelho Santos, for this occasion. The background mellow melody of a musician stirs the emotions of those that never had the chance to experience the Douro in this way.

“The moonlight picnic is an opportunity to experience the Douro, and Quinta do Seixo in particular, in a way few are familiar with. It is to enjoy the calmness, silence, and beauty of the night, in an exclusive environment”, highlights Joana Pais, Head of Hospitality and PR at Sogrape.

Located at the heart of the Douro, Quinta do Seixo, a trailblazer in the region’s wine tourism, offers a breathtaking view over the valley and the river Douro. With a rich and centuries-old history of harmony with nature, it was recently recognized by World Best Vineyards as one of the most remarkable winemaking destinations in the world, further solidifying its reputation as a place that must be visited.

Among the diverse winemaking experiences it offers, visitors at Quinta do Seixo have the opportunity to explore the origins of Port Wine with visits to the cellar and tastings of the renowned Sandeman Port Wine, as well as to enjoy a wide variety of outdoor activities for nature lovers, picnics at the vineyard, guided visits to the Old Vineyard, and the innovative Biodiversity Trail, enabling visitors to gain winemaking and environmental knowledge in a natural and relaxed way, in a combination of experiences that allow to know more on how Sandeman’s Port Wines are produced.
