Bodegas LAN joins International Wineries for Climate Action as a Silver Member

Bodegas LAN, Sogrape’s producer in Spain, has become a Silver Member of IWCA – International Wineries for Climate Action – one of the most rigorous global initiatives promoting carbon emissions reduction across the wine sector.

With this achievement, LAN strengthens its long-term commitment to sustainability and climate action, joining a network of leading wineries that are adopting science-based strategies to measure, report, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions throughout their operations and value chains.

For Julio Martins, General Director of Bodegas LAN, “this union represents a great step forward in our business commitment to reducing environmental impacts through the use of real and concrete solutions for our sector. We’ve set an ambitious Net Zero target for 2050 and we are proud to join this objective alongside a group of leading wineries in environmental action, including our gropu, Sogrape, which is also a Sulver IWCA Member.”

As part of IWCA, LAN is committed to establishing a baseline greenhouse gas emissions inventory data, audited by third parties.

“The adherencee of LAN to the IWCA further enhances efforts undertaken as part of Sogrape’s Global Sustainability Approach, Seed the Future.”, explains Mafalda Guedes, Head of Corporate Communications & Sustainability at Sogrape and 4th generation of the founding family. “As a group, we aspire to drive forward our business while also acting as catalysts for positive social change and respecting the limits of the planet. Together with the rest of the IWCA's winery members, and particularly with LAN, now a Silver Member, we believe in building a fairer and more resilient future where business success and environmental responsibility can coexist in harmony.", added.

Through this milestone, Bodegas LAN and Sogrape reaffirm their shared commitment to sustainability, innovation, and leadership in advancing a lower-carbon future for the wine industry.
