IVDP honors the innovative i-GRAPE project at Port Wine Day

The Instituto dos Vinhos do Douro e Porto (IVDP) has already revealed and distinguished the 2023 winners of the "Douro + Sustentável" awards (Douro + Sustainable), an initiative as part of the celebrations for Port Wine Day, which took place on September 10, at the Teatrinho Reguense, in the city of Peso da Régua.

The ceremony, which takes place every year, aims to distinguish different projects which, over the last few years, have contributed to creating value in the Douro Demarcated Region.

In 2023, Sogrape was distinguished in the "Viticulture" category, recognizing the developments and solutions presented by the i-GRAPE project, created in collaboration with INL (International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory). The project consortium also includes four other partners from Germany, Italy and Portugal.

The "Douro + Sustentável" Award seeks to celebrate i-GRAPE as a differentiating project, which provides a digital tool that "aims to control the ripeness and water status of the plant, automatically, remotely and in real time". It is a "digital solution that supports decision making in real time" and therefore has an impact on the quality and value of the wine.
