Sandeman: the most awarded Porto Wine brand in the world
Once again, in 2018, Sandeman was broadly and internationally recognized and, for the 6th consecutive year, it won more awards than any other Port Wine Brand in the world. The 24 medals collected in 2018 were awarded in the Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA), the International Wine Challenge (IWC) and the International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC).
Between 2014 and 2018, this iconic Port Wine brand collected a total of 123 medals in these three competitions, in recognition of the quality of its wines by the most renowned international specialists. As for last year, the most distinguished wines were Sandeman Porto Tawny 30 Years Old and Sandeman Porto Tawny 40 Years Old.
This has been a solid journey, according to João Gomes da Silva, Board Member for Sandeman at Sogrape: "The recognition of Sandeman as the Port Wine brand with the most international distinctions within the past years, is a strong reflection of the consistent level of quality achieved. There is a lot of hard work involved to keep Sandeman as the world leader in the Port Wine category, and to receive this kind of recognition by the most renowned specialists in the world is, without any question, a boost to the brand's prestige."
With over 225 years of history, Sandeman now holds solid and proven international recognition, as well as the preference of the specialists.
