Sogrape achieves IWCA Silver Status (International Wineries for Climate Action)
We are proud to announce that Sogrape has just achieved Silver Member status of the International Wineries for Climate Action (IWCA)! This accomplishment was made possible by successfully completing a minimum baseline third-party-verified GHG emissions inventory and demonstrating our commitment to achieving net-zero emissions across Scopes 1, 2, and 3 by 2050.
Sogrape became a member of the IWCA in June 2022, joining big names in the global wine sector to jointly take action to decarbonize the world's wine industry. This is a collaborative working group of wine companies committed to reducing carbon emissions across the wine industry, taking a science-based approach, towards Carbon Neutrality by 2050.
Mafalda Guedes, Head of Corporate Communications & Sustainability at Sogrape and 4th generation of the founding family, shares:
It is with great enthusiasm and responsibility that Sogrape moves forward in its commitment to IWCA's mission, having now achieved Silver Member status. Aligned with our Global Sustainability Approach, Seed the Future, this is an important step to promote a resilient and sustainable future for the wine industry. Dedicated to creating a stronger collective voice and joint action against the global challenges of climate change, we want to join the efforts of IWCA and its members in driving a positive impact and pave the way to a healthier planet.
