Filomena has visited our vineyards in Rueda and has beautiful pictures during the second week of January.

Snowfall in vineyards, particularly over the winter months, has a positive effect on the health and the growth of the vines in various ways. During winter, the vines are dormant and the intense cold helps the plant during this period of restorative rest.

The snow also helps prevent insects and fungi that are still present on the vine from penetrating its bark, and thus possible damage is avoided.

There is a local saying, “Year of snow, year of good fortune,” which is certainly true for our vineyards.
